About Us

The Yale Student Investment Group (YSIG) is the oldest independent undergraduate fund in the country. Founded in 1982, we have grown our portfolio to approximately $450,000 in assets under management. Our investment approach is rooted in deep research, while we seek to leverage our members’ varied backgrounds, academic interests, and work experiences.

Investment teams are the core of YSIG, enabling members to gain experience in a particular sector or strategy. Each team is headed by an experienced upperclassman who leads discussions about markets, provides sector/strategy-specific training, and facilitates idea generation and pitch construction. For the 2026-2027 academic year, YSIG will have six investment groups: Consumers, Industrials, Technology, Media & Telecom, Macro, and Small Cap & Special Situations.
